Katalyst Prep helps students make a costly, consequential choice. Our job is to explain the evidence, compare realistic alternatives, and state the limits of what we know—not to turn every course into a five-star sales pitch.
Evidence before certainty
We separate documented product facts from editorial judgment and avoid claiming student outcomes a provider cannot substantiate.
Trade-offs, always
Every option has a downside: price, format, pace, access, or depth. If we cannot name the catch, the review is not finished.
The process
How a course becomes a recommendation
We start with the student’s decision—not a provider’s feature list. That means defining the exam, learner, budget, and study constraint before comparing the offer.
- Map the product. We record current formats, access periods, core tools, public policies, and prices from the provider.
- Assess the learning system. We evaluate how lessons, practice, explanations, feedback, and analytics work together.
- Compare the right peers. A low-cost self-paced QBank is not scored as though it were a live tutoring package.
- Stress-test the verdict. We identify who should buy it, who should skip it, and the closest alternative.
- Date and revisit. Material updates are dated. Time-sensitive prices and guarantees should be verified at the provider before purchase.
